A Different Ambience of Black

Is this an exterior - or is this wall inside a house..? It is an interior, without roof...

Hyperrealism is sometimes claimed to be the characteristic mode of postmodernism (for example Jean Baudrillard in Simulations, 1983). In the realm of the hyperreal, the distinction between simulation and the "real" disappears...

Simulations are often the inspiration source, like here. Crime novels, crime television series, psychological thrillers etc. are examples that sometimes influence our view of black/darkness...

In some expressions "dark" is denoting something destructive or depressive. These expressions are popular - easy to use - in the press in some countries. This may be contributing to the duration of such associations...

Thus, in less sunny countries it is important to note that more or less creepy, obscure associations concerning black are neither natural nor deterministic... See "Ambience", where we go beyond this, and "Struggle with God", another example of hyperrealism.
